Eczema Skin Care Tips

There are different types of eczema. Eczema is a skin change characterized by itchy, red, scaly skin that is sometimes moist, crusty and studded with blisters. The causes of eczema vary. Some of the more common causes include:
  • hereditary eczema called atopic dermatitis
  • dry skin eczema (nummular and asteototic eczema)
  • dandruff and facial seborrheic dermatitis
  • allergic contact dermatitis (such as poison oak or nickle allergy)
  • irritant dermatitis (such as dish pan hands)
While the causes of eczema can differ, the rash manifests in similar skin changes. Eczematous skin has a weakened skin barrier and inflammation. Treatment and skin care to help calm the inflammation and heal the barrier will improve the eczema overall. I give you tips to do both, so that your eczematous skin canheal.
