My science-backed botanical skin care products are uncommonly effective - not just green and clean-washed to ride the latest trends. Did you know that effective botanical ingredients in your skin care products can include:
- essential oils added to a formulation for fragrance or therapeutic purposes (e.g., sea buckthorn),
- botanical-based products designed to capture the plant's time-honored benefits (e.g., rose hip oil, argan oil, witch hazel etc.), or
- pharmaceutical isolates of the active compounds found in plants added to formulations to capture specific properties of the compound (e.g., EGCG green tea polyphenol antioxidants).

Many brands use known allergen sensitizers in products marketed as 'natural'. On the flip side, others 'fairy dust' meaningless amounts of botanical ingredients into a product to create compelling marketing prose to garner sales. I don't!
