How to Add Green Tea to Your Skin Care Routine
Tips to add Dr. Bailey’s high-concentration green tea products to your skin care routine
We’ve been talking about green tea and skin care this month and want to provide some specific steps on how to add it to your daily routine. Check out my specific advice below…
Complete skin care involves the 4 essential steps of:
- Cleanse
- Correct
- Hydrate
- Protect
My high-concentration green tea products fit into the “correct” step. They are also products that have a light consistency, and so they are best-layered after thinner, water-based products in your “correct” step. They are layered before thicker correcting products. Thus, examples of how this would look include:
Cleanse with your cleanser chosen based on your skin issues, goals and type. For example, use Extremely Gentle Foaming Cleanser, Foaming Acne Treatment Cleanser, Glycolic Acid Cleanser, Calming Zinc, etc.
Some products will cover both a cleanse and correct function in your routine. These can include thinner toners or treatment pads. Use those before applying Green Tea. For example, use Naturally Hydrating Pore Refining Toner, Acne Treatment Pads, etc. before applying Green Tea.
Correct with thinner products such as the Instantly Luminous Serum, Pigment Fading Pads, etc.
Then, apply your green tea product such as Green Tea Antioxidant Therapy, Advanced Corrective Eye Cream or Retinol Night Cream. Continue layering products that correct skin problems but that are thicker such as Vitamin C (allow green tea to dry first), Glycolic Acid Cream, Benzoyl Peroxide Lotion, etc.
Hydrate with your moisturizer of choice. Examples include Daily Face Creams and Natural Lotion or Butter. BB Creams (such as Suntegrity 5 in 1 with sunscreen) are another option.
Protect with your sunscreen.
Makeup, if applied, goes on top!
Green tea and skin care go together for a healthier complexion!
