I survived! I've joined the 'Over-50-screening-colonoscopy-survivors' club!
I have to say that I'm thankful for really good anesthesia. I don't remember a thing
. When the nurse asked me if I wanted to watch (um, no) I recited what one of my wonderful patients
told me to say: "I don't want to hear, speak or feel....anything". Right on, after giving me a look of disbelief, she got it.... and so did I. And boy did I have a great nap when I got home-and slept well that night too. Way to go modern medicine!
The colon prep, however, is as bad as everyone said it was.
OMG enough already. The GOOD news is that I don't need another one for 10 years. Yea for the alkaline Mediterranean diet
(heavy on the veggies and whole grains).
Thanks and gratitude to my lawyer husband who stood by me through the 'for better or worse' of it all. He's next and I'll be sympathetic, supportive... and glad it's not me.
